Parece que os fãs de Castelo se têm esmerado bastante nos últimos meses, pois deparei-me com mais um brilhante display desta temática. O autor é Dale Harris (Flickr) que nos delícia com este trabalho intitulado "The Fortress of Falkenholt", mas que na realidade são duas fortalezas que estão inseridas neste diorama. A mais imponente, e que dá o nome ao display, é "The Fortress of Falkenholt", a fortaleza dos Black Falcons, com detalhes inspirados na nostálgica facção dos anos 80. A outra, "The Fortress of the Forest Guard", é também inspirado noutro tema muito acarinhado pelos fãs de LEGO Castle, nomeadamente Forestmen, retratado aqui não por esconderijos nas árvores como era habitual nos conjuntos desta facção, mas sim por inúmeros túneis subterrâneos. 

Tanto um como o outro estão repletos de detalhes fantásticos, e são complementados com um landscape lindíssimo, com muita vegetação e um rio à passar à frente da Fortaleza.

Este trabalho esteve recentemente exposto na Brickvention 2022 e foi considerado, sem surpresa, a melhor construção do evento.

The Fortress of Falkenholt

This build is a large castle/landscape display featuring The Knights of the Black Falcon and The Forest Guard.

First and foremost the aim of this build was to showcase what I love about those classic mid-80s Castle sets and specifically my two favourite factions. I have drawn inspiration from the original sets featuring each faction, specifically what I loved about them as a child and aimed to contrast that with what appeals to me as an adult builder.

The build features two fortresses side by side, Falkenholt Castle, the fortress of the Knights of the Black Falcon and an underground network of caves and tunnels that comprise the fortress of the Forest Guard.

Some of the elements that I am most happy with in this build are the level of detail and texture, the cross-section style cutaway on the edges of the build showing the internal structure of the castle as well as the geological layers of rock, clay and soil.
