Demorou quase dois a ser construído e já foi concluído no ano passado, mas um moc deste tamanho merece a honra de ser destacado. O crédito vai todo para Sarah von Innerebner (nome no flickr), criadora desta réplica da biblioteca do filme "A Bela e o Monstro", moc esse que tem cerca de 25.000 peças, onde aproximadamente 5500 delas foram utilizadas para fazer "livros".

"When I was little, my favourite movie was Beauty and the Beast. My grandpa always took me to the library and so even as a child, my favourite scene in the movie was when Beast gifted the library to Belle. It’s such a short scene- 45 seconds - but the elegance, splendour and sheer volume of that fictional library has always stayed with me.
Fast forward 2 decades and I’m now married to an AFOL. I was thrilled when the ONLY set for Beauty and the Beast came out and we purchased it immediately! So for the 2017 BrickCan Lego convention, I decided to make a small version of the that library scene, using my prized mini-dolls from the B&B Lego set. I unexpectedly won a prize for my build! The prize: LEGO part 28870 “ornament with bar”, from the moment I saw the new 2017 piece, it exactly reminded me of the ornate decor of the crown moulding in the library scene. I knew that I wanted to build the library - but Bigger!

In October 2017, cue winter and Lego building. I started planning, sketching and tinkering and many, many trips to the LEGO store for white brick! By December I was building.

I started with the library lions in the alcove on the second level. Maybe not where others would start, but comparing the size of Belle and Beast in front of the fireplace, all the way up the mantle, it seemed to me that these lions had a prominence and I wanted the scale to be right. I knew that the right colour for the lions would be sand green, but I didn’t know how I would create a realistic lion. Then I saw the Lego Ninjago set Green Ninja Mech Dragon (70612), and not only did it offer many sand green angles parts, it also came with a unique snout piece! I think this piece really helps bring the lions to life!

Another striking milestone came when we visited the Lego store and the wall of bricks contained the ever-essential 1x6 white panels. It was like they were there just for me! The staff let me “sketch” out how many I would need and several cups of panels came home with me that day. The panels became the essential piece that allowed me to create deep “bookshelves” where a lego book could be “shelved”.

As building progressed, it became more and more obvious that I needed much more white brick! This led to the purchase of the Taj Mahal set (10256-1), which had been re-released. As well, I kept admiring the Disney Castle set (71040-1), as it had many great pieces, colours, and inspirations; such as the Minifig Helmet Ninja Horn Elaborate (11437) piece that I felt was the best choice for the mantle detail. The Disney set helped too with the doors and the outside tan wall.

There were several build challenges, but my ever-supportive husband was always there to help me rework things that weren’t quite right or to lend a hand. He also brought Belle to life with her 180 degree back and forth motion and the lit fire place.

Overall, the build is approximately 25,000 pieces, with about 5,500 being “books”. The outside tan castle wall is covered with “vines” and red roses.

The books in the back are friction fit. All the books in the front section are placed! Took about 6 hours to make it look realistic. The books are not fastened to the shelves at all; just like a real library ;). I ended up making shelf covers so that I can move the segments without needing to restock the shelves for each show."
